Keeping Good Company with Great Members

Here at The Chamber, we’re constantly looking for ways to engage our members, to advocate on your behalf and to support your interests in Cass and Clay Counties and beyond. That’s why we’re so excited to be honored as a Chamber of the Year finalist by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. The Chamber of the Year award honors local chambers who not only demonstrate success in community leadership and organizational strength, but also make and impact of key community priorities. We’re one of only  10 chambers nationally to be named a finalist and we’re excited to represent you in Louisville, Ky. in August.

As our staff talked about the finalist ranking, it reminded us of a blog by member Flint Communications that was called “We Keep Good Company.” You see, we’re not the only ones being innovative and working to make an impact in our community. We have a whole host of members who are doing just that. Heritage Homes was named the 2012 DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce just this week. “Heritage Homes has been a leader in the small business community for more than 15 years,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue.  “Its story is a shining example of the innovation and determination that has contributed to the success of America’s free enterprise system.  Today our nation’s business community stands together to recognize Heritage Homes.”

Tomorrow, members Warner and Company Insurance and Legacy Photography will be honored by the Small Business Administration for their achievements in the community. Warner and Company was named the 2012 National Jeffery Butland Family Owned Business of the Year and Tyson Kuznia of Legacy Photography was named North Dakota’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Plus, we just honored 18 outstanding companies during our May 17 ChamberChoice Awards Luncheon. These businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs are the best of the best and are taking business excellence to a whole new level.

So while we’re proud of being recognized as a  Chamber of the Year finalist, we’re more proud of having such fantastic members without whom none of our work would be possible. We‘re honored to keep great company with members like you.
